FANTASTIC HOLIDAY SEASON
We rented the Yeomalt Beach House for an entire month for our holiday festivities. What a wonderful home! It was more than I expected, very clean and comfortable with its heated floors, beautiful furnishings and unbeatable views. The house had everything we needed for many wonderful family dinners and fun, long walks on the beach, great New Years Eve fireworks. Bainbridge Island is it’s own world and so is this home. The owners thought of everything to make our stay perfect. thanks vrbo and thanks to the owners at Yeomalt..

PRECIOUS DAYS AND INSPIRATION AT YEOMALT
Your Yeomalt home was the perfect place for precious family time. We arrived from Asia and using your home together with other Yeomalt homes we were able to gather gathered our kids from three continents, as well as parents, aunts and cousins in the Northwest. The new monorail from SeaTac worked great! Our guests got to the ferry easily without us having to head into the city to pick them up. Just getting to Yeomalt is half of the fun. We can not help but be inspired taking the ferry to Winslow. The views are simply spectacular, with the Seattle skyline and mountains every way you look, north, south, east and west. Mount Rainier was out and did its best to remind us why we love the Northwest. We’ve dreamed of this vacation for years and Yeomalt didn’t disappoint. There was something to make everyone happy. We had SPECTACULAR weather. The few northwest showers we had added their own charm. It was cozy to cuddle inside by the fire and watch the waves.
Spectacular wildlife! We took great joy in watching the wildlife of the neighborhood, especially the bald eagles, golden eagle and large heron. Several times the bald eagle flew overhead as we were enjoying a drink on the deck. A highlight was taking a spa-bubble-bath and having a bald eagle flow by the window! Majestic moments abound!! Future guests are encouraged to keep your camera at hand! The fish were biting right in front of the house. We had great fun watching salmon being netted at dawn and dusk (Coho caught on downriggers). Cousins down the beach were satisfied with flounder and dogfish. There was a great assortment of shellfish, clams, gooey ducks and other interesting creatures to be discovered when the tide went out. The seals gave a few barks. We also enjoyed Harley, the beach sweetheart, a beloved and friendly Golden Retriever.
Enjoying maritime traffic. Several of our guests kept occupied watching the rich assortment of boats, the cruise ships, military vessels, tugs, barges and freighters passing by. My son took it a step further, gathering information from the marine traffic website. The bravest among us looked forward to jumping the waves from the big freighters. It was too cold for me but we enjoyed watching the kids do this! (Note: Big waves hit 10 minutes after big ships pass Yeomalt point.). Garden! We enjoyed the selection of plants you’ve chosen. It smelled heavenly and all the wonderful shapes and colors gave visual inspiration. My mom, an avid gardener, was enthralled with the garden and sends her warmest greetings! We hit it at its peak! Lovely!
Cooks delight! Cooking was a joy in your well equipped kitchen. We’ve always dreamed of having double sinks and now having used your kitchen we agree this is the way to go! Your herbs were put well to use on top of our freshly caught salmon and local veggies! The raspberries where so sweet! What a treasure! We took great delight in keeping our guests fed. The numerous seating areas worked well to accomodate a variety of serving options. The bar was a great serving area for meals. A round table is conducive to conversation so we were so overjoyed that your home had this seating option inside and out. The selection of produce in Winslow was wonderful so we were able to quickly stock up the house for hungry boys. We were so happy on Yeomalt we didn’t even taste the great local restaurants other than a few father-son breakfasts at the Streamliner Diner.
The house gave us great inspiration. We enjoyed the architecture, artwork and your beautiful furnishings. Your culturally rich collections of artwork, glass and objects kept us stimulated. The ambiance was fancy enough to feel luxurious while staying beach house casual. Many hours were spent just relaxing, chatting and reading. I adore your many beautiful chests. You’ve inspired me to hunt for some when I get back to Asia The house also gave us great fun dreaming about a future home we will be building. Peace and quiet! The house was big enough to give everyone space and small enough to feel cozy and friendly. It really was the perfect place to gather family! We avoided a typic downfall of multigenerational vacationing, being too close and getting on each others nerves. This home facilitated keeping us all happy. The kids found corners to disappear in with their laptops. My husband loved sitting on the deck looking through the flowers and sea grass at the water. My mother who was recently had surgery was happy to recover on the sofa. The deck was my favorite place to be. From dawn to dusk there was always something to look at, rays to catch, people to chat with or naps to be taken. I ditched several of the books I’d planned on reading in order to read novels in your shelves! You had some authors I have wanted to read and it was with joy I got to sample them. It was a very very relaxing environment. Those of us that had a special need to be unplugged really did relax! I enjoy photography and Yeomalt really is a perfect places to capture Northwest beauty. The light at dawn with its pink sky behind the Cascades should not be missed. It is magical. It is utterly still, and the sun rising and reflecting on the water is stunning. It is so still and quiet. The only people who experience this magical beauty are early risers and a handful of fishermen. The waters of Puget Sound, whether rough or glassy calm, reflect light and change each and every day. The rocks on the beach have subtle colors of grey, green, white or red and are smooth and sensual, the driftwood full of mystery.
The variety of seaweed is even beautiful! The magic hour at evening when everyone on the deck looks tanned and rosy is my favorite time of the day. Later the sunset reflects on the city, then after dusk the lights of the city skyline twinkle I feel like I’ve gone to heaven. Even when we awoke at night from jet-lag we had beautiful views, with a moon reflecting on the water. What more can a person ask for!
Low tide! We had extra low tides during our stay and we were able to time our beach walks to take advantage of optimal tide flats down the beach (to the north). There is something about those walks that fills the senses refreshes the lungs, and facilitates great conversations. There is so much to enjoy. Sun reflecting on the tide-flats, playing games (for example rating how high we can get a gooey-duck to squirt), throwing a ball for Hurly, exploring tide pools, building sand forts, walking and talking, running or strolling. Precious memories were built! Note to future visitors: Reading the tide charts is something every Yeomalt visitor should do! If your stay includes a low tide make sure you plan a beach walk at low tide.
Relaxation! The house had great audio/video equipment but we didn’t use it since we were busy enjoying the outdoors. We didn’t visit Seattle’s great tourist attractions or go the Mariners. We didn’t play golf like we’d planned and we didn’t go canoeing. So what did we do? We watched the view. We relaxed. We lazed around and read and talked and laughed and played games. We took a quick outing to Poulsbo for sweets and shopping in Silverdale but everyone wanted to get back to the beach. We walked and enjoyed the beauty all around us. Yeomalt is filled with simple elements that quickly become precious memories. We want to make this an annual event!

A FABULOUS HOME AWAY FROM HOME!
Dear Kinam and Eric, Many thanks for opening your home!! A special thank you for sending the eagle to say hello on our first night here. The kids had a blast, your neighbors were a joy, the window in the maste bath shower a special indulgence – all is all a fabulous home away from home!.

THIS YEAR IT JUST FELT LIKE HOME
Dear Kinam & Eric, We are still smitten with this place. This year it just feels like home. Ellie really enjoyed the toys. The girls discovered a swing way down the beach which they called their “secret” spot. Then the party on Friday went beautifully, including aunt Jeanne’s “Slide Show” & narration of Ray and Lois’ lives. Your spirit of generosity is evident in all you do & we are blessed! Love, Janet
P.S. – I enjoyed the roses – only worked on 5 this year. But it’s fun for me..

WE HAVE MANY WORDS OF PRAISE FOR YOUR HOME…
Barbara, I and part of our extended family stayed in your lovely Yeomalt Beach House. We came from Portland to celebrate my 72nd birthday. We feard the worst as we watched the weather forecast as our visit approached but it showered only briefly and we were able to engage in all activities including visits to Bainbridge town, long beach walks, sun on the deck, an enjoyable paddle in your your nice old town canoe, watching two crows harass a bald eagle, and finding a crab washing ashore. Throughout the house we visually consumed the beautiful art & antiques, which display a refined taste blending the Asian & occidental features with the surrounding craftsman elements. We loved all the architectural & decorative features, especially the many kinds of stone, granite counters in the bathrooms, stained glass windows, carefully chosen sconces and ceiling lighting & all the wonderful light coming into the house from all angles. We have many words of praise for your home.

TERRIFIC HOUSE
We rent luxury beach houses around Puget Sound and this has to be one of the finest. This architecturally impressive jewel-box of a home, has spectacular views, is beautifully appointed and tastefully decorated, immaculate in its cleanliness, refined its elegance, and imbued throughout with tremendous serenity, peace and tranquility. Every element has been lovingly, thoughtfully, and thoroughly attended by its owners, who are such a gracious, lovely, and highly attentive couple. We should also mention that our two year old loved this property as well — she thoroughly enjoyed the deck, garden, and beach. We greatly enjoyed many great restaurants and parks, located close by. We highly recommend this property, with the greatest enthusiasm, and look forward to returning.

A HOUSE TO MAKE MANY FOND MEMORIES!
I’ve stayed at the Yeomalt Beach House on two occasions over the past year and it’s truly a remarkable place. From the beautifully-appointed and luxurious decor to the lovingly-maintained gardens… oh wait… and a breathtaking view of the Puget Sound from virtually every room, it’s one of the most special places I’ve stayed anywhere.
While I noticed that the beach house is more expensive than some other Island properties, it’s totally worth it. It’s literally right ON the beach… no busy road or neighbor’s road to cross. In fact, since it’s located at the bottom of a dead-end road amidst a handful of beach homes, there’s almost no traffic, except for a couple of friendly beach bum golden retrievers.
Finally, the owner, Kinam, does everything possible to make your stay a great experience. While hotels and B&B’s are nice, sometimes you want to be left alone in an exquisite house surrounded by nature, and this house provides just that!
I hope to return to the Yeomalt Beach House ASAP!!

WE FELL IN LOVE WITH THE HOME AND THE ISLAND…
The perfect home and setting to decompress. Incredible attention to detail for every aspect of our stay. We fell in love with the home and the Island. The home was built with every conceivable comfort and luxury for an intimate getaway or time with our extended family. The grand children loved playing on the beach and taking the canoe out in the shelter of the cove. The nature garden around the home made for beautiful pictures. We had groceries delivered and cooked our family favorites for everyone in the well appointed kitchen. Eric and Kinam created a fabulous home that we will come back to every time we can.

AN AMAZING SPOT!
We had a lovely stay on Yeomalt Point. The house is gorgeous, though does not sacrifice comfort. The beach is beautiful, the gardens lush, the weather was perfect, the neighborhood dog hung out with us — which was a bonus– the canoe was well-used. We particularly enjoyed a midnight canoe when the bio-luminescence was at a peak! Kinam went of out of her way to be helpful, finding us a great babysitter, providing movie tickets, and giving any information we needed. It was a great spot for our family to gather — we hope to be back! The house is kid-friendly.

DON’T MISS THIS INCREDIBLE RENTAL!
My family and I just spent two glorious weeks at Yeomat House. In 40 years or so of renting waterfront properties, it was one of the very best. It is situated beautifully, right on the water, with beautiful views of Seattle on one side, and Mt. Baker on the other, and a large deck and afternoon sun to enjoy them from, especially at cocktail time. The house itself is beautifully furnished and very comfortable. The master suite has an incredible view and a great bathroom. The other two bedrooms are good sized for either other couples or kids. Kinam is very accommodating (I arrived a day earlier than planned and she still got the house ready for me) and resourceful. Upon request, for example, she found a baby sitter for us. All told, we had a great vacation – fun-filled, relaxing — couldn’t have been better.

THANK YOU FOR AN ABSOLUTELY MAGICAL STAY!
Thank you for an absolutely magical stay. We love your home and the beach – no matter where you look there is delight for the eye – inside and out. We are a family from Bainbridge Island, WA, Covington, WA and Novato, CA. We needed a place near our elderly parents who live at Wyatt House. Our four generations love having a vacation together. We are enjoying every minute from building a fort on the beach to playing cards around the table. We keep discovering the creative surprises of the house… the animals in the stained glass windows, the special flower arrangements, the dog and child in the living room pictures, the custom windows tucked here and there.. Your house is a blessing and a delight. Thank you for the pie – it was our birthdays, Lois and Janet…and we love pie.

A GORGEOUS HOUSE IN A ONE-OF-A-KIND LOCATION
We’ve rented houses from Rhode Island to the Caribbean and this is by far the best. This gorgeous house is right on a private beach. It’s one of the most beautiful beaches I seen, with more than 180 degree views of Seattle and both mountains; a very special location. I don’t know how they did it, but there is a view of the water from every room in the house. The bedrooms are large and comfortable, bathrooms contemporary and elegant. The house is tastefully furnished with many special details, but comfortable and kid-friendly… our 2 and 5 year old daughters loved it. It’s close to town which has great restaurants, bakeries, a cute ice cream shop, park and movie theater. We spent most of our time on the beach, in the garden (I think my girls picked every raspberry in there) and lounging on the huge deck. We watched the sea lions rest on a little floating dock in front of the house almost every night, saw bald eagles and other amazing wildlife. It’s such a special place, our whole family had a wonderful, relaxing stay. I look forward to our next visit!

THIS HOUSE IS AMAZING!
This house is amazing! I love it so much, and being able to go down to the beach whenever we want is really cool! The views here are awesome and at about 8 pm fish jump up and it’s cool to watch. I also love the granite counter tops in the bathroom. And it’s creative to have a bookshelf built into the wall. The Teddy Grahams you left for us were really good, thank you!

LUXURIOUS BEACH HOUSE… FABULOUS PRIVATE SANDY BEACH
What an amazing place! A luxurious beach house, fabulous private sandy beach, views of passing ships, and we had a BBQ on the stone patio, smores at the outdoor fire pit, and we walked along the beach and enjoyed the sea life around us. The beach house had everything that we needed or wanted. We had a wonderful time away – beautiful memories to last a lifetime… we wish we could have stayed longer!
